Apparently chickens can magically go through walls and cliffs. Rabbits I can understand what with their epic jumping ability.. But how can a CHICKEN go through a wall? Annoying to try to catch chickens where my alt is located because they keep going through walls. Very annoying.

They have trouble running away if you choke them.

The walls have a Block 'Limiter' of sorts, I asked this question AAAAGGGGEEESSSS ago. Blocks everything bigger then the Rabbits and Chickens which share the same size (hence the same capture style)...
Its like with fences the buggers slip under the branches that make it up, with Pallisades, they slip through a space in the wall itself perhaps. And for Brick walls they fly/flutter over it by scrambling up the loose stonework, Scary enough I have seen a chicken do that before...
