Nuked Grid?

A friend of mine and I were walking through a forest yesterday, carrying boats, which contained the remnants of our village after we were repeatedly pillaged. We were forced to log out last night, and I had just logged on because we were planning on finishing our walk. Both boats are gone. Not just the stuff inside of them, which was mostly worthless to anyone but us, but the entire boats. This occured east of Macomb.

I understand that it's possible that it was theft, but I'm pretty desperately hoping that it was an error of some sort.
