Character creation bug

Ok so this will be the first time ever I play Haven & Hearth. I log in to my account, wait a few seconds until the window shows up. The window shows up taking me to a new screen displaying a green mage and on the bottom right corner, a button saying: "New Character". Once I press it, my Haven & Hearth client automatically shuts down and I get a java error window.

I have taken a SS of what the message shows. Please refer below:

You shouldn't use my client to create a character the very first time you use it, use the vanilla client by clicking "PLAY" up top then you can login with my client.

I'd fix this, but I still haven't figured out a way to do it without it elegantly.
