Game crashing every few minutes

Postby Shif7 » Sat Mar 27, 2010 11:59 pm

The title says it all, this is what is entered in the error.txt document after it crashes

# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
#
# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x6d9b9e54, pid=880, tid=2808
#
# JRE version: 6.0_18-b07
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (16.0-b13 mixed mode, sharing windows-x86 )
# Problematic frame:
# V [jvm.dll+0x1b9e54]

If anyone knows what this means or how to fix it I'd be forever grateful, I can barely play and I really want to give this game a go.
Thanks

Bump, if anyone could tell me where the Java Cache for H&H is I could try deleting that, I suspect the graphics files are giving me errors

According to the error message, the JVM itself is segfaulting for you. The JVM is normally a pretty darn stable piece of software, so I don't really think it's a bug. Rather, I'd guess the problem is with one of following (in order of decreasing likelihood):
  • Your Java installation (some file may have become corrupted)
  • Your hardware (flaky RAM could easily cause such problems)
  • Your operating system installation

It's probably the RAM, I ran a diag program on it a while ago and it had atleast 9 hardware errors per stick, going to buy some soon hopefully.

Thanks for the help
