Fishing for compliments?

Today, while fishing, I keep getting an LP boost, and the fishing cycle stops, but there are NO FISH being caught, and I'm standing right next to a time where fish are jumping, and I'm fishing into that spot.

Yesterday you could work on filling your back by just fishing NEAR a jumping fish tile.

What gives? Can you not get fish anymore? Increasing the need for food is all well and good, but since I've yet to find a Windblown Seed (With Exploration 10) I have no crops to grow, so I'm left to hunting Lvl 9-10 game (suicide) or fishing.

And for the snide comments about 'Just move to another area' 'Go join my village' and 'LOL Die N00B' I'm going to say this, "I don't want to move, I'm building up a homestead in the wilderness." "Thank you for the offer but I don't want to join your village." and "Go [expletive deleted] troll, I was around back in the First World."

The only thing I can suggest is look for the exact spot the fish jump out of the water, or the one they jump into and try fishing on that one pixel. I have had some luck with that, but in general now I find fishing so frustrating I have put my fishing rod into storage.

in my experience the jumping fish seem to provide a fairly large area that provides fish. maybe one of the components of the fishing rod broke? also are you sure the fishing is stopping?

Yeah, I have had this too, fishing between two spots almost side by side where the fish jump. It seems to be really localized sometimes.

I'm guessing the fish were just above the quality threshold to exist?
