Quality of kiln and smelter resets to 10

After the crash quality of my kiln and smelter reset to 10. I'm not sure how is that possible.

i have had something similar happen twice before, however it wasn't the kiln quality, it was the fuel quality and it wasn't set to 10, it was 0 by my calculations. are you sure your kiln is permanently 10? it may just be like the fuel in my case.

it's the kiln ql, and it can be messed with to decrease final coal ql, maybe beyond the -1 limits.

I will try using different wood blocks and see, hope it's that. Making a new kiln and smelter would take a while.
