Hardened Leather - making

Hello all,

i dont know, if this is somewhere else or not, if is it, sorry for posting it again.

I was trying to make one traveller´s sack - 5 hardened leather + 8 strings.
Problem was, when i was making hardened leathers. 1 hardened - 5 leather + 2 wax.
So i had in inventory 25 leathers and 9 piece of was (10th was on the ground). I made one hardened leather, pick up last wax and continue with others. But there was problem. Ingrediences was taken to the proces and i should have 5 hardened leathers. That not happend. Instead of 5 hard, i get 1 hard and 4 normal leathers. I didnt notice it, so i didnt stop it. I lost 20 leathers, 8 pieces of wax and get 4 normal leathers.

Can someone check it please if is it bug or its just my char ?

sorry it is a known bug/fault (and one I have done myself). It gives an a full explanation on the Wiki:

Hardened Leather also counts as regular Leather in recipes, meaning it may be used as a substitute if you have no regular Leather available to you. However, since Hardened Leather uses Leather in its own recipe, it means you will have to remove newly crafted Hardened Leather from your inventory before attempting to make more or it will be used in the process. Do not use the "Craft All" button if attempting to make multiple pieces of Hardened Leather or some will be lost in this manner.

I am not even sure it can really be called a bug, it is just that Hardened leather is still seen as a type of leather by the game. Either way I don't think it is going to be changed any time soon. Just don't press 'craft all' when making hardened leather.

When you make hardened leather you must just make one at a time.

Then put it somewhere safe while you make the next one or it will be used in the receipe. I learnt the hard way too.

I think one of the devs stated it was indeed intended behaviour. I agree though that it is totally annoying.

Fishing pole recipe excludes certain kinds of string, so the fact that hardened leather is still seen as a form of leather by the game should be no excuse.

BUT understanding this BUG, cause it is, anything that causes STUPID waste and destruction if you happen to forget the BUG... then it is a BUG. With the rediculous drop rate of Wax...my hives havent produced one fucking piece of wax in over a week and half of crop harvest/planting. The fact that an accidental "Craft all" = the total waste of all the leather and wax you managed to save is rediculous, lazy and stupid coding. IF this BUG is known, then wax rate should be increased and the candleberrys should spawn in ALL swamps at a decent rate instead of just the dirty swamps. IF that is you aren't going to FIX the damn thing then you should balance out the other parts to make up for it! adding 10 fucking hardened leather to a mine knowing the shitty wax drop rate AND this hard leather creation bug...is just pathetic

And speaking on that note, what the fuck is up with hives not producing 1 piece of wax in over a week? Has somethig went buggy with them now too? They seems to work fine the first week, then nothing...other peple are telling me the same abouttheir hives.

I'm sorry, but you are wrong.

A software bug is the common term used to describe an error, flaw, mistake, failure, or fault in a computer program or system that produces an incorrect or unexpected result, or causes it to behave in unintended ways.

loftar wants it to work this way; therefore, it is an intentional feature, albeit a stupid one. But not a bug by any meaning of the word.
