Cupboards Disapeared, everything else is still here.

Cupboards Disapeared, everything else is still here.

All of the cupboards in my houses just disapeared last night. I'm fairly certain I was not robbed as nothing elase is missing/destroyed, and there are no scents left behind.

Granted my ability to see stealth is currently lacking due to an incident with a bear that was hiding in a tree. But literally the only thing missing is the cupboards, everything else is still in and outside of my houses.

The cupboards were all inside of 2 Timber houses so they did not rot. The houses are on a claim so they should be at least semi protected.

is there a glitch that allows cupboards to rot inside sometimes?

After doing a bit more searching I realized that I do not have the abilities to detect scents. However it still does not make sense that the cupboards were either stolen or destroyed by another player.

Here is my thoughts as to why it is a bug:

I had 17 cupboards (yes I'm a packrat/hoarder that branch may come in handy)
The only things that were destoryed/are missing is the cupboards
There was a table full of food next to one set of the cupboards that is still there and is full of food
outside of the building there is still a ton of other stuff, including a rowboat, many crates with other misc items, and 2 carts with crates in them atm.

NOTHING else was touched. the cupboards (and their contents) are the only things missing.

More Details:

I just finished studying some curiosities and was able to get the ranging skill, There are no scents on my claim anywhere. Tho my EXP*Perc is only 10*10 so 100. I'm a somewhat new player so my stats aren't very good.

Is there anyway for me to completly eliminate the possibility of a player having stolen the cupboards?

As I said in a previous post I don't believe that the cupboards were stolen as everything else on my property is still here. If they had been there to steal stuff I would think they would have taken the items in the crates outside or all the food on the table. If they were there to greif then I would think they would have destoryed more then just the cupboards.

Has anybody other then myself and Robertzon had this happen?

I thought I had this happen to me in w4, but I couldn't be sure as I didn't have a claim up yet. I haven't had it happen since. My cupboards were also in a log cabin at the time.

I go out of my way to steal cupboards rather than make them from unwalled areas all the time. Cupboards are a pain in the ass when you need 99 of them for every damn stone mansion. Not everyone wants your rabbit meat or to screw you over, sometimes we're just looking to make our lives a little easier.

You find it more worthwhile to steal a cupboard then to make one? Even off of claimed, but yes unwalled property? and the table actually had a ton of blueberries and otehr stuff on it.

Honestly I would find it easier to make a cupboard then to haul one back to my base. Its only 2 logs if you have a bone saw (with left overs if you have a metal one). I'm more annoyed that my bone glue, ropes and leather I was gatehring are now gone I was going to have enough to start a stockage shortly, but now I'm out of lucka nd have to start from scratch.

They were in a house, so did not decay.

Techxknight was partially right about them being stolen. I was able to pump some points into exploration last night and was able to find the scents of theft, so I was "robbed" though I would call it more griefed then robbed since when I tracked the Perp down they were a long trip away, plus they stole some stuff and just destroyed the majority of it. One half of my storage was only scent of vandalism, no theft scents. so they just destroyed a bunch of my cupboards.

Oh well I was thinking about moving to a less crowded area, and was hesitant since I had so much crap, now I ahve the perfect excuse to move and last night I gathered almost everything I need for a palisade, only missing 2 more ropes, and need to cure a few leather pieces.

So Nooby lesson Learned, a palisade is a worthy investment even if you're considering moving shortly.
