I'm thinking it's got something to do with the big crash we had in the first week of July, but, it's getting to the point where lag is ruining the whole game. Sorry to raise the issue but is there any hope in site for getting it back to the way it was before the crash?

No. If you want to fix the lag, donate.

Has nothing to do with the server capacities, Ninja. The lag started right after the corrupted data/ nuked areas incident. Before we had a more or less lag free HnH and the player numbers haven't changed since then. It definitely has to be looked into and frankly is the thing I want a statement about from the devs most.

You all know exactly how it'll be fixed, sooner probably rather than later: W6

I don't know that, no. I am a noob when it comes to most computer related things and also I am trying to be an optimist.

Until the server explodes or the devs actually start releasing updates again, we wont be seeing world 6.

I dunno - seems like a world reset would be the cleanest and fastest "fix" for the data corruption issue. I realize they're fulltime on Salem at this point, and I don't know how much manual effort a reset would take, but (as a computer guy, albeit one with zero knowledge of the H&H infrastructure and architecture) a reset seems like it would be the fastest/easiest way for them to address the corruption issues as opposed to digging in and trying to fix the corrupt data.

Ever think that the lag is from the infrastructure added to deal with data corruption prevention? Things that make you go Hmmmm.

I've seen a lot of downtime on the weekends the last couple of months. I'm sure Loftar is putting in as much time as he can scrape together for us and not just leaving us floundering.

Very well could be the easiest fix, but easy is not always the best. Who knows, J&L might learn something from this that will pay off in the long run.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

yup, there doing this as a learning thing im sure but so many have grown to like this game (like me) it should be more than that. sorry im poor and only have been able to find part time work (in the last 2 years) thats not for sure perm yet so i cant really.

i think a reset would be the best fix but i also understand it takes time to do and it means starting over. we'll know when we know i guess.

a reset will never happen for the testers' convenience. devs dont need any more noob world data with the same features.
still it would be nice to hear a word or two on this horrible lag from devs soon, though.
