I'm pretty sure this is an Ender's problem. I fixed it by removing all the .conf files in my Ender's folder, see if that helps.

No. They're character specific configuration files.

Another way to check if you've got a bugged conf file is to just create a new character and see if it freezes then. If it doesn't, then one of your conf files for the other character is bugged.

No, it means you're deleting preferences, like where the placement of windows are, and what's on your actionbars. It will not delete your character.

There are only 4 different conf files (well, more if you have different actionbar setups on alts).

If you're still having this issue, try redownloading Enders.

There should only be 3 or 4 conf files anyway. If you deleted them and it still freezes then maybe try redownloading Enders?

Ender's can just be downright slow to load on some machines. It takes me more than 5 minutes for my client to load. Graphics for HnH are loaded from a server just like a web page. It's something to do with A) resource calls for the graphics and database information or B) a machine that's just slow and trying to decompress/render a lot of .png files at once. One thing that helps me: try opening in a smaller window. For some reason it seems to help.

You can always go back to one of the older clients like Gilbertus or Arksu. You might need to update the haven.jar file with the latest one if you are getting a "cannot connect-client too old" message. They both offer the hidden objects, night vision, and x-ray modes as well as extra toolbars.

List of .conf that you will need to delete on occassion:

windows.conf--position and size of windows if you have moved or resized them. includes all containers, character sheet, toolbars, buddy list, minimap, chat window, and more. Delete if you lose a window off the screen or make it so large that you can't adjust or move it anymore.

belts_<char-name>.conf--the toolbars for your characters. There's a few issues with these at times, and I can only think of one regular one: flasks/cups bug up if you use the toolbar to try and drink from a flask/skin/cup. Delete if you're client is lagging like crazy (poorer than usual frame rates) or crashing after logging in.

haven.conf--Options for the client. This might need to be deleted if something bugs up in it. Unsure of any conditions other than possibly crashing on launch.
