Unplantable Tiles for Wheat (Solved, but weird)

Postby Sevenless » Mon Jan 23, 2012 9:26 pm

I'm well aware that others have had this issue before. I'm also aware that it's normally caused by tiles being reverted to grass before showing that they've reverted. However I re-plowed these squares (by hand and by plow) 5 times just to be sure. There was a group of 5 tiles that absolutely refused to be planted with wheat. I could plant wheat elsewhere (and did so), but not those 5 tiles no matter how much I tried.

Eventually got curious if I could plant those tiles with other seeds, went to fetch some poppy seeds. After starting the planting motion (and aborting) with poppy seeds, the tiles could again be planted with wheat.

No clue why that happened, but there's my report/solution.

Run across this a ton, it really grates on that anal side of my personality that says that ALL TILES MUST BE PLANTABLE!!!!

Try what I did if it happens. No clue if it's a general cure, but it did let me plant those tiles immediately after.

it happen to me often but i dunno if it could be the client or the game or some weird kind of lag. What i know is that i can instant plant on some tile and i CAN'T plant that tile, but after i plant around it change and it become plantable. Pretty....dunno.

I think everybody has the same problem with this, maybe someone knows a tip to avoid it? I just replow the spots.
Hope you have a great day

Yes you can enter a building, cave, or mine and walk back out and its available to use again. You can also move far enough away and it will fix its self.

This bug also sometimes affects wells, adding fuel to kilns smelters...

Perhaps you should read before calling people asshats.

But yes, leaving the area and coming back seems to correct the issue if plowing does not. Also, if you use a different character they will typically not have the same issue.

I think it's an issue with Ender's. Changing zoom level lets you plant the unplantable tiles, you just have to guess the correct zoom.
