Constant Disconnections(Forced log out)

Postby thek3mp » Mon Sep 02, 2013 12:57 am

It seems to only happen when i'm in my settlement, Not when i'm afk, nor out and about boating.
I've tried opening ports, both in my windows firewall and on my router.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest and v6 java, I even changed from 64bit to 32bit to see if it made any difference.
Anything else using the network seems undisturbed, everything seems to be going fine if i'm running other applications.
it wasn't like this the last time i was actively playing, mid world 6.
I'm running windows 7 and using the 32bit enders client(i was using 64bit whilst on 64bit java)
When i get logged out i get put into the log in screen, I cannot log in for a minute or two(i assume until the server disconnects me for not responding?) but other than that, there's no error messages at all.

Can anyone help? It's a real bummer when i'm trying to get domestic issues sorted.

Server needs a moment to have you fully logged out

You might do a
Code: Select all
tracert moltke.seatribe.se
in a new CMD window to see if there are timeouts or huge ms at any hops (timout at hop2 is ignorable - your PC -> your Router)

Anybody have any suggestions? This is ludicrous, i can't even have a casual chat in village chat without disconnecting

Note: It's fine when i'm not in a village or actively doing stuff near one.

I've refreshed my client completely in the past to no avail, I'l try it and let you know soon, The Disconnects are unpredictable so i may have to leave it a while before confirming/denying it works

Edit: i was logged in a mere 20 seconds before disconnecting again

also check for power saving settings for all network devices (uncheck "pc can disable to save power" or such)

In Java Control Panel - Network settings - try different
" - Extended Tab -> Java - Console - check "show console"
(prolly works with java.exe only - not javaw)

another suggestion would be to have all your kins coloured (no white ones) and uncheck autohearth (if it isn't)

Do you have a line with
Code: Select all
pause
argument in run.bat?

I only had one white kin, I changed it and got a dc two seconds later.

Power settings were the default "balanced" I've changed it to high performance.

I don't use autohearth.

I changed my java network settings from direct connection to use browser settings.

I'l let you know

I used to have a pause open for my run.bat, But no additional information was ever shown so i removed it.

Edit: Also, the disconnects are occurring in the original client, enders and union, I don't think it's a client related issue

Change the .bat so that it launches the client using java.exe instead of javaw.exe (yeah, it does matter. The console won't show with javaw.exe.) Add the pause back in. It might be generating some messages that you aren't seeing otherwise.

This seriously sounds like a caching issue to me or a stability issue with the connection to the server. Can you try connecting with your computer through a different network? I'm curious if the router might be having something to do with it or if it's localized to the computer.

If you know how to check your network traffic with profiler tools (Windows has some built in through the Admin console), you might want to keep an eye on things like dropped packets or spikes in traffic the network isn't handling very well. The server throws a ton of data at the client when a session changes.
