The real solution to this is to make movement not be a total pain in the ass, either by pathfinding or by letting us use arrowkeys/click-holding

Moving cows wouldn't be so annoying if you don't have to click like a madman to reach them.

If livestock updates come in a different order, everyone should expect an angry mob of farmers and hungry cows.

Obvious answer to your 'idea'.

Why yes, they shouldn't be stuck into gates in order to make them manageable, but until there is a way to do it that isn't making me want to bite the head off a chicken, kill every hearthling in the supergrid and then go swimming, it's the solution.

You don't kil the current impromptu solution before you introduce the real solution, you do it after. Hell you don't even suggest that the impromptu solution goes away at all until after the solution is fixed.

Trapping a cow in the gate... genius. I was wondering what I would do with this giant mess of cows, they love blocking the gate.

you can always put a fence ourand your fence if you dont want them spawning outside however the thing i rlly find anoying is that the animals sometimes get stuck in the gates corners when they are running around and i need to get a rope to get them out.

You remove the cornerposts and just have the gates, then they can walk in easier.
