That's a very generic error code, similar to SIGSEGV on Unix. Instead, could you post the "technical information" alluded to in that dialog?

I'm having the exact same problem. What is odd is it was working fine a few hours ago, and nothing has changed since then. By the looks of it i'm getting the exact same error message, too. I tried other games that use Java and they all work fine, so I think that Java is not the cause of it.

Hmm... that crash information provided by Windows sucks a bit; it doesn't even say which thread it was that crashed. Normally when the JVM crashes, it produces a crash dump of its own which is much more helpful. It's usually called "hs_err_pid"-something and is put in the directory in which the JVM runs. Can you find any such file lying around?

Well, this is odd. It doesn't create a error log with HnH, I know exactly what you're talking about though because every time I close Minecraft a error log such as that appears. The Java Console/Error Console doesn't appear to leave any trace either.

I really can't say I know, but maybe it's an issue with Java Web Start? Maybe if you try the downloadable (as opposed to JNLP) version of some of the 3rd party clients, it will dump a crash log?

I tried on another computer and it worked, albeit it runs like crap because my other one is years old and runs like shit, but it worked regardless. I haven't tried a 3rd part client yet, but i'm getting the suspicion it is something that I have installed that is interfering with Java Web Start. I'm going to mess around a bit to find what is doing it.

Edit: Okay I tried messing with things that could potentially be interfering with JWS to no avail. I tried playing other games that use JWS, they crash also. I tried a 3rd party client only to have it crash yet again with no crash report being dumped anywhere. Hmmm... I'm at a loss on ideas considering that it worked fine the first time I played, then it suddenly started crashing whenever I tried to open it after that.

Just thought I would post my fix for the curious.

I opened five Haven and Hearth clients at the same time and 4/5 opened normal while the first one would get the error, I'm not sure why it works but I'm not complaining.
