This thread was made for when the server was being hosted on a spare computer in the dev's dorm room. The code was a lot shakier then and pretty laggy too. It got a lot better and then a lot worse since then. You are correct that the problem isn't with your computer but it's not with the host server either. The issue is in the code of the game and the devs currently do not have the time or tools necessary to fix it. I'm not sure if the tools still don't exist, but if they did I feel like loftar would have jumped on the opportunity to tinker with his server code. =)
