Yeah, as the previous poster mentioned, this does not work with boars at all. I've done it with foxes and even bears, but boars are just too damn aggressive. They'll pursue you to the ends of the earth knocking you out if they could. I think they're innately more aggressive than other creatures, or something. Something is up with them.

I've noticed that Deer don't seem to suffer this bug. Compare their AI code and find out what's different.
As an addendum, I've noticed that deer have their own bugs. Not sure if it was mentioned yet, but their combat AI occasionally just seems to flick off while you're beating on them. This seems to happen most often when they charge at you from a certain direction. They'll stick to you and start twitching between directions. Eventually their combat AI flicks off and they'll just wander off while you beat them up.
