lag is less when online is 300, and maximal lag at 600 online.

So, its a decision between lagless server or a chance of permanently losing everything.

Hmm.. I vote lagless :3

So not even going to give Loftar a chance to fix the server lag issues, huh? Tsk Tsk. Some alpha tester you are. :/

Not backing up the data seems like a signifacantly worse idea then allowing some lag to continue. Some data corruption has already occurred, and if it happens again and servers arent backed up, it could very well be the end of world 5. Now, loftar and jorb are busy working on salem. They don't have time to trouble shoot things that could happen upon starting up the new world so we could be left in a worse situation then some occasional lag. Soooooooooo ill deal with lag.

+ i still have some faith in loftar to fix this lag =s (call me crazy)

How?
RAID? :o

What about writing data only once on disk, backup database like every 24h on a data server? (i can lend you one xD)
Seriously, It may require to stop the game server for 20 mins a day, but it'd be more acceptable than having 2 second lag every 5 seconds of gameplay.

You know, it costs money, and lots of it, to implement robust data services. J&L don't publish how much people donate for this game and it might not even be enough to cover most of the expenses of running the server and data connections. The last major donation I read about was an UPS for one of the servers. I don't know what some of you think game developers make, but they don't make any more on average than other programmers and other graphic artists. (I can point you at some good

Now, once Salem comes out and if it is a decent enough success, they might just have enough to throw some money at Haven. Until then, suffer. I'd rather have a stable server instead of one constantly crashing even if it means dealing with lag.
