TechXKnight "World 1 ended when the game was overhauled and a new combat system/world generating system was implemented. World 2 ended with the advent of a new world building engine, new combat system, and bug exploitation. World 3 ended when the server data corrupted and could not be recovered. World 4 ended because botting became a serious issue and made the game virtually unplayable. Welcome to World 5.
Each new world means we all start over from nothing with brand new characters. The younger a world is the more dangerous it is. Older worlds tend to be dotted with tiny villages, increasing the civilization levels of an area which causes animal levels to be lower and their spawn rates to drop. For example, if an area is sufficiently civilized it can prevent the spawning of bears and deer and boars will be such a low level they won't be aggressive (Or this at least used to be true in World 3, we'll need to experiment to see if it's still true in world 5.)
Also, as large cities become established they stomp out raiders in their surrounding area. Buyan was a great example of this in World 3 where they literally sent patrols of rangers out to defend everyone in their supergrid (1600 minimaps). Committing a crime near Sodom, Constantinople, or New Rome was also essential suicide as they were zealous about protecting merchants and traders. Bear Lake crushed a total of five raider camps/vaults before it disbanded due to civil unrest in World 5.
The issue we're having right now is that there are very few established villages because of bug raiders. Exploiting bugs to circumvent game mechanics to raid large cities. Villages have, historically, been mostly safe from bug raiders but now you have lots of roving marauders causing problems. Which is fine too, to be honest. Being a marauder is a legitimate way to play the game too. It's a fun way to watch the world develop! I just wish it had been because of fair wars (Such as the fall of New Brodgar in World 3) or raiders (Such as the fall of Ironmine in World 3.)
This also means less trade, of course, so everyone has diminished growth. Trade is good for everyone -- regardless of if you're a big city, small village, raiders, or a hermit. The world has lost two large trade hubs already which makes it difficult to buy and sell things to newer players. Without a centralized hub you have to know people and be able to get around -- not something newer players or hermits can do. Because of this you're mostly reliant on your neighbors for trade and assistance."
We were talking pm just because (love "because."). Anywhooos massive eye oponer for those new, see a few 'guests' checking this thread out.... I am in no negative side to end your feeling to play this game if anything to enhance your lust for it (dirty word lol). In all cerealznus with the in depth information obv this game has more than the shallow look you get from google images coming across as some barbaric 2d game, no its not... This game has a far more in depth.
This thread was my conclusion to what i had thought of the game and with cobaltjones qoute "the fact that you've probably experienced 1% of what this game has to offer makes me question your ability to speak on it." agreed for my two days playing fair does to mark me off such if you wish but for some ppl (not all) play games to such extent for days on end. The game has become more interesting the more I have spoke to TechXKnight the stories from the past world brings an almost rl political medievil kick ass scene to it in a much bigger scale
