Kinda what I figured. I think someone has tried this and wikia banned the account (or at least issued a warning) then reverted everything back to the previous state.

I've noticed that we cannot just modify the main page with the fact that the wikia page is obsolete. Would it be a possibility to edit as many pages as possible to say that this information is obsolete and to go to the new wiki, ringofbrodgar? It'd be tedious of course but would serve to redirect people.

Good idea, but I'm not sure what wikia's policy is on outside linking.

Wikia are a bunch of assholes, so nothing can be done to fix this situation :(

Wikia Staffmember Dopp wrote:blocked Saphireking65 (Talk | contribs) with an expiry time of 1 year (account creation disabled) ‎ (advertising competitive wiki)

Dopp's edit history consists mostly of reverting edits by Saph and DoG.

By way of an experiment, the 'Curiosities' page there currently contains a link to the front page of this site; I used to use a wikia that had quite a few links back to the game's official website, so I don't see why that should be taken away. There is also a reference to ringofbrodgar.com buried in the depths of the 'LP' article (but not a link, in case external links get flagged up to wikia staff); another reference, wrapped in a large dose of sarcasm, has already been edited out along with the typo that inspired it. We'll see how long they last....

Search Engine Optimisation seems, in my experience, to mostly be annoyingness and spam. But. The idea is that sites that have more links to them from other places rank higher with search engines. So one way of getting RoB above Wikia may be for people to link to it from their own, separate sites, e.g. their own blogs, if they can do so without being spammy and annoying. Obviously anything posted should not include links to wikia, or it would seem to give them equivalent value.

Putting an unobtrusive link in one's sig on other forums should do the trick, right?

Didn't want to start a new thread... but to confirm. Dying doesn't reset the personal beliefs timer anymore right?

No it doesn't
