Ah well that clears that up then. Might I ask what your usage is while playing?

i have the mentioned usage with XP 32 - but it's nearly the same with Win7 pro 64 Bit + Java 64 Bit + Ender 64 Bit on the same machine and same HDD type as the one XP is on (only difference is it uses all of my 4 GB Ram)

Geez, your CPU usages are so high. D: I usually run 3 clients at once at 50% CPU, but, I have a six-core. I'm sure the multi-threading helps. I also run 64-bit enders and Java.

I run 64 bit, and I can run up to 7 clients fine with no lag on the clients (but fps does drop a little, and other windows suffer)
Regardless of if I have 1 window running, or 100 the java.exe sucks all the cpu that it can. I'm currently running 1 window and it's using 70-80% cpu and 1gb ram, google chrome is using the rest.
Before when I had two windows running, they were each using ~40% and 800mb ram, chrome was using the rest of the cpu.

I have 2.2ghz dual core, 3gb ram (1gb video), and I'm not 100% sure but I think i have a 2ghz single core video card

There seems to be no change in anything in the task manager 'Performance' tab when I limit the java to a single core, and chrome to the other, although youtube videos stop skipping every time I teleport.
Strangely enough I remember being able to run the enders client with it taking much less of my cpu, I have no idea how it would change recently.

Just for the information:

I use 32bit java and ender's and have about 40% CPU usage when running only one client (can go up to 75% at some moments). I tought I was the only one tbh
Hope you have a great day

i have same problem now. FPS drops to 5..very hard to play. ive been readin this forum. guys tried somethin. uf you have NVIDIA card. go "Manage 3D settings, add run bat..or global.. and find Threaded optimization-turn it OFF.

maybe that shuld fix problem. and second, maybe better solution was,.to go to task manager-right click javaw.exe, and set affinity to ONE core.

SECOND solution works, you can notice that. while your client is running. try to change that and you will see huge FPS boost.

seems hnh with java engine have some problems while playing on multiple cores (i have 4 cores now), before i had AMD athlon 2.6 DUAL.,and ati card, i never had such problems.i hope that will help you.
cheers

I have an AMD card, I searched for the 3d settings and turned off all optimisation (countn't find threaded though) and cpu dropped to 35% for the one window. Thanks

For AMD (CCC) : 3D -> All Settings -> OpenGL Settings -> uncheck Triple Buffering

V-sync off might help too

AFAIK threaded Optimisation is Nvidia only
