There's no exception/detailed exception tab anywhere? The launch file doesn't reveal anything.

There is, I was dumb and posted the wrong tabs. My previous post has the proper tabs, the main launch and the exceptions are there. Sorry about that. Here it is, if you just want to not look for my previous post.
This is the Exception tab:

I don't believe I've seen this before. Is your firewall or browser preventing caches from websites?

I figured out the first bit, for some reason java wasn't allowing storing of temporary files. Now, I have a log in screen, and every time I try to log in, I get, "Authenticating..., Connecting..., Could not connect to the server."

Not sure what is causing that. The server is up and all. I'm guessing something on your connection.

I'm sure you've heard it before, but I suggest trying ender's client. It has a lot of features, and if you could can connect with it, it probably means the error is on the vanilla client.

for those that read this later:
To enable the cache, go to your Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Java. When it opens, look to the bottom of the General tab window, the section titled Temporary Internet Files. Click the Settings button there. Enable the checkbox in the upper left that says, "Keep temporary files on my computer."

@Jalgorth
Open a CMD window (run -> cmd.exe) and type
Code: Select all
tracert moltke.seatribe.se
- post a screenshot when done

Seems you got a mobile chipset (AMD M690T) with integrated graphics (ati2mtag_RS600 ?) - this is the latest (2010) official AMD (ATI) driver

i guess you just use the driver that came with Vista update - if so you should install the above one

Sorry about this late as hell reply, I didn't have much interest in playing.
Downloading the top link did it for me, thanks a bunch.
