Don't think its my firewall or anti virus.
It worked fine at World 6 though and there haven't been any major changes to my PC.

hmmm - did you try with renaming existing Ender and use a clean one including update 06.04.12 already?

also you might do a tracert in a new cmd window

A cache corruption can cause this from my experience. Has clearing the Java cache (and deleting the .haven folder Enders uses) been tried?

Afaik the Java Cache (Temporary Internet Files) is only used with default client not with Ender - .haven cachestores official res files that aren't in haven-res.jar of default client or custom, Ender (custom clients) res folder or a custom_res folder made in Ender (custom clients)

It might be worth a try to rename .haven folder (i won't delete it) and run Ender - after a sucessfull run log out right away and take a look what res files got cached

Had forgotten that little tidbit about Enders. Seems like I'm running into the same issue since the day before last. Bought Wheelmaking on a character and everything froze up. I wasn't leaving my character logged in (had waited nearly 15 minutes already) and couldn't force a log out without force terminating. Been screwing with it since.

Didn't I see something somewhere at some point about manually downloading the resources?

close client - count to 10 - open client again - login - prolly you just didn't wait long enough with login attempts or your client freezed

Nah, thanks, but it takes a good minute and a half until my char logs out. Basically, it just instantly goes back to "Log In" (I remembered my account into the client) and in-game, it's like I'm logged in for around 1.5 minute. Then it goes to Zzzz and I can log in while it's Zzzing.
It's very irritating.

But is there any way at all to prevent the disconnections? I lost my first W7 character to one, and I've lost almost an hour of brickwallmaking time by disconnecting every 5 seconds and reconnecting 90 seconds later.
If not, can you just tell me what the problem could be? My internet? My laptop?

It could have different reasons - which goes from power saving mechanisms of your Notebook up to the routing your provider does...

As far as i remember you're using WiFi to connect to your router - take a look at the power saving settings for your WiFi card first - (i.e. uncheck entries like "computer can disable unit for saving energy" or such)
