How to Raid ANY village with No Ram, No Effort

If I understood correctly, then just a caution: You are not allowed to build an island fortress/hearth vault in such a manner that there is no room for a ram.

Seen so many of these already this world. Brick wall, no room on the island, house to hold the hearths, village claim, and personal claim. Kosher or not, it's the perfect hearth vault, so people are going to do it.

I had the intent of doing that. Mine is currently palisaded, but I have no desire to grief at all. I just like farming in safety. Am I risking the Wrath of Jorb?

better to just use a peninsula and use a lot of walls a la constantinople

Hey now. -5/+2 isn't terrible. It's not great, but I'll deal with it. I'm not super starved for FEPs, so I'll get over it taking twice as long to get supercrops.
