Im going to go point out the obvious.

Your boat was damaged, you didnt notice it, went out without swimming, it broke, you drowned, the end.

Sorry, but this happens when you dont repair a boat before you leave, maybe you'll do it next time

To expect a boat to be hit multiple times by decay during a single hunting trip is unlikely, at best. And if it was a deep red I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to go sit in the middle of a river and plink away at deer for hours.

Normally I'd suspect a thread like this to be made by someone with no proof of their death and just wanting their character back because they did something stupid. However, a screenshot was provided and it doesn't look edited to me. If it is, it's a damn good job.

I have no opinion whether they should get their characters back, but I for one believe something odd happened here, which may be worth looking further into by the devs.

frankwoods, you and your friend have my sympathy. I hope you continue to play and don't let it dampen your enthusiasm too much.

deers can destroy boats even when in flee mode. this happened to me but fortunately i wasnt actually in the boat

Me and my friend just started playing again. However I still think it should be looked into how this happend. A perfectly good boat should not just disappear all of a sudden while you are out of range from anything that could majorly hurt it.

My boat also dissapeared and i died. It wasn't perfectly new but it was good. I was fishing in the middle of the river so no animal could attack it. Im not whining, i died and got over it, i just think it's annoying bug.
