@gato Not being able to be shot behind a rock, although you could argue that this is a feature rather than an exploit. Still he had a char that was mainly macroed up and hanu used a very well known bug, which is encouraged by the devs. Should ofc be fixed, but while it is still in the game people will use it. Klaue is only the most prominent example and that's why people just love to create another drama around it.

When you kill people for the lulz or because you are drunk and raeged for no reason, don't be mad if you get killed for it. Not like you guys wouldn't use the same exploits in an instant against Hanu and BN. And don't even try to tell me you won't. I have played with all of you long enough to know.

Actually, no.
I will not be the same player I was last map. I will try to settle things diplomatically rather than just going and killing.
I have no beef with BN or hanuman on this map.

i don't see how having a hf behind a rock or building is an exploit

also don't know why there's so much rage about the boat-exit wallhack when there are obvious protections from it, and i'm pretty sure everyone involved knew about this bug already, but whatever

ofc I would have done the same if i was in onionfighter's shoes.
But, someone saying kLauE was using an exploit because his hearth was behind a fucking rock is like saying that having your hf inside your mansion is an exploit.

All you do is start drama.
If you would like to continue, then come on down.

To silly people that think that if you can't make new boulders dissapear it means you're immune behind a rock a big lol. You can make a HF look like a mansion though...

Maybe I should chime in...

The boat bug is unfortunate. It should be fixed. We've known about it for a long while, but its not entirely trivial to fix it (according to loftar). It will be fixed. I don't know when.

I have decided not to resurrect kLauE. Partly because the bug has been known for a long time, and partly because kLauE had clearly put himself in harm's way in the first place. I was actually surprised when he told me he didn't know about the bug.

Some people might see this decision as a breach of principle: You die to a bug, you get your char back, but I think we all know that no situation is ever really that clear cut, and that, in cases like this, it always comes down to making a call. It is not possible to formulate rules that ensure 100% predictability in the outcome of any given application of them. We try as best we can to make decent rulings, and we try to be guided by principles.

With regards to client modifications that make houses transparent: We can't do anything about it. You can cry exploit and cheat all you want, and I would be tempted to chime in with you. I am tempted to say the same about people who disable the lightmask. But we can't do anything about it. Once data has left our server, we no longer have any control over it, and any client can do with that data whatever it wishes, including rendering it however it wishes. We can't stop that. (We could perhaps try to enforce some sort of police state regimen for the game, ala many commercial developers, but... nah.)

The only thing I can say about modifications like that is that I don't like them. My statement to that effect is not worth anything more than anyone else's.

If I were playing this game for hardcore srs bzns pvp, I'd be using a modified client as well.
