Crop quality keeps dropping despite high farm level.

Ops I'm still softcapped at 0 and harvesting at non-plowed tiles doesn't seem to affect it.

Similar behavior - I think the crop determines the tile q at planting, not at harvesting, which is why once the tile is unploughed it's not helping.

So here's what I got harvested and re-planted just now (don't remember what they were when I planted them first planting but here's my replant):
Flax 12, 10, 8.
Onion 10, 9, and 8.
Hops: 8, 8, 8, 6, 6, 3
Wheat: 7, 6, 2

From these bountiful harvests, I received 36 LP each at 360% (10 base).

I'll post my results next gen.

You won't be saying that in a week or two when you realize how many abandoned homes there are. A 30 second boat ride south of my village literally bring you to the ghetto. There's abandoned claims everywhere with the occasional newb taking things and raiders patrolling. It reminds me of Detroit.

I'm currently on my 3-4 generation of everything and all my crops are 1-5 ql. I have 20 farming and the soil QL is 20-ish.

Was there any indication form J&L if this is intended or a bug? WTF is going on?

Other than their recent "Salem" post, I've seen no evidence they've been on forum since their trip started. They're busy. It will wait.

My carrots and beetroot respectfully disagree so far.

It's possible I've just been very unlucky, but until they pass q10 I'm not going to say that the issue is fixed.

Previous Generation's Planting:
Flax 12, 10, (8 is somewhere else don't know where).
Onion 10, 9, 8
Hops: 8, 8, 8, 6, 6, 3
Wheat: 7, 6, 2

Flax: 10,9,11; 11,6,9... Fibres 10 and 11.
Onion: 7,8,9; 9,5,7; 11,4,4 (probably from the 10).
Hops: 3,4,4; 7,6,4; 5,6,3; 5,3,1; 8,5,3; 3,2,4
Wheat: From the 2: 1,2,3; From 6 and 7: 1,2,3,5,5,6. Not one even above the lowest of the two in that pair, and the 2 saw only a single seed with any improvement. Straw of 2, 6, and 7. (Is the straw equal to the planting seed's quality? A test will reveal more later).

Farming was 10 for Flax and Onion, 15 for Hops and Wheat, Soil Q 28, but I really doubt the Farming number mattered for Hops and Wheat, and was only vaguely relevant for Flax and Onion.

Farmed 10 minutes ago.

Hops and Wheat results are clearly conclusive of decline (no visible increase, most crops decrease). Onion shows mixed results, with a potential gain of 1 in 1 out of 3 seeds per crop. This compared to an average increase of 3-4 per crop in 2 out of 3 seeds in W3. Flax shows some potential of increase, but overall not enough to show resolution of the bug.
The bug is likely still here.

See you next generation.

EDIT: For personal note, I planted the onion and flax crops in decending order, west to east, north to south, thus on the northernmost row, the westmost crop is highest quality, and on the southernmost row, the eastmost crop is lowest quality. Wheat crop planted in a shared wheat field with a three row barrier between other crops and it, about midway through the field. Hops crop planted at back of hops field, three row barrier between it and other hops. Order of wheat and hops was not specific. Flax crops in the test field are 11,11,10. Others are in a shared flax field, separated.

Sorry for using this post as a notepad, but it helps to make sure I give accurate info.

to me it seems like there are new influences playing a role. time of planting, light different grow-stages get, moon-phase when planting or harvesting...i don't know. i just know that i (and not just me, i figure) was thinking 'oh, it's fixed' several times now, just to be disapionted the next generation.

We may never know, since this game is now virtually Abandonware. It's been like a week and a half since this thread was created and loftar hasn't even acknowledged it, nor logged into the forums since almost a week ago
