Tables are Borked?

Postby Rakuen » Fri Aug 20, 2010 11:52 pm

Uh, I might be seeing something wrong, but the wiki says a table, chair, linen napkins, wood plate, and wood tableware should all make food increase my hunger more when I feast... but it seems to do the opposite. Sure enough, when I add all the above stuff, the Hunger modifier drops from the original 99% to 89%, and roasted roaches increase my hunger 2% instead of the normal 3% when I eat at the table. So yea... tables are borked, for me at least. Unless I'm looking at it all wrong.

The purpose of feasting is to eat more food. Once you get a proper farm running, you can't eat all the food you make without it.

I was a bit confused when I first looked at the bonus myself.

What the table and settings do is reduce the amount of Hunger that foods replenish, thus allowing you to eat more for the FEP points before becoming full. The more the table cuts into the Hunger value of a food, the more you can eat. Some really decked out tables in Villages will let you eat dozens of foods before you get full.

If you just want to eat to keep from starving or are just eating plain bread or apples/mulberries/nuts *do not* feast them off a table, as it will reduce the already minimal Hunger you regain.

A table can get up to around 5% hunger actually. Meaning you get to eat 20 foods of that table before you replenish as much hunger as you would just by eating the food with your hands.

edit: it's actually lower than 5% too, just 4% is 25 times more food already, 3% is 33 times more food.
