Trees not Growing

Postby Twentytwos » Sat Aug 28, 2010 11:36 am

Not sure if this is a bug, but i have been growing trees in the image i have posted for a while and all of the sudden the have stop and all get stuck at the same growing phase for bout 4 weeks now.
I have cut down several and replanted to check tiles and it is conifir tiles, so im unsure what my be stunting the growths. Any feed back would be apperciated.

Sound like that was the time there was a little auto tree growing experiment in HnH. After which some tree's seemed to be stuck in there current growed stage. Not sure if this might have something to do with any possible blocking items. But pavement seemed to be involved as blocking element at that time.
- Remove the pavement on some of your tree's. (at least 4 to 5 tiles)
- Replant some new tree's. Some with and some without (at least ...) pavement tiles around them.
And see what happens.

Rodents and frogs tend to stump trees if they happen to be close to the trees when decay ticks, although this looks either coincidental (such as the frogs and rats happened to stunt them all) or a serious bug.

I think I have the awnser for your problem. What kind of forest did you plant the trees in? The one with apple trees or the one with no food giving trees?
I have had a similar problem with planting those kind of trees in the wrong enviroment for it. It will stop at that growth state if it is in the wrond kind of forest.

A mulberry tree should grow in grassland, but it will just take longer (I think). It took me about two weeks for a mulberry tree to grow on grass.

Just make sure that rodents and frogs can't get close to it while it's growing, or else it is a good possibility that it will stump.

It looks like your area dosn't get hit by decay for some reason (since the trees you have need a decay hit to grow the last step).

Or you're simply unlucky that the decay hits everything but the tiles with the trees on them.

No, that's not the step that takes decay, it's the one before it. Looks to me like the pavement is stunting these trees.

Does the tree grow on the space, or at the junction of 4 spaces?

I can vouch that pavement isn't the issue here, though I'm still not sure what happened to his trees since it is pretty much similar to mine.

The space where their center is at with a 5 x 5 requirement of no-hitbox tiles around them to grow.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.
