I had that when I was experimenting with different hardware setups running haven. Usually the low-end systems gave such errors. You might want to try and wait 10+ min, the first start of HnH takes quite a bit of time on older PCs.

Also, some things you might want to try out are: Gilbertus' downloadable client (has haven-res in a file, might work wonders... or not), updating your VGA drivers or trying on a Windows OS (incase you're using Linux or Mac).

I am aware of this problem, but unfortunately I have no clue as to what causes it. The problem is compounded by the fact that I've never had it happen to myself, making it kinda hard to debug.

okay.. I had this issue and managed to get around it..

I found that with firefox I had to open the containing folder that the game was downlaoded to and open the actual game.. If that does not work try downloading it from the paq page... and do the same thing..

i havent tryed with the regular client in a wile. But both with Pachos and Gilbertus client, first logg in will take about 5 min. Sometimes its a white screen with the custom pointer and sometimes it is a black screen but with the same custum pointer and sometimes there is parts of the sprites from the game at the location im about to spawn at. However if i touch the client window or any other window during this load (like tabbing out or using minus to the client window) it becomes totally white and wont load at all, if i just leave it to load in peace, it takes 3-5 min and then im in. Pachos was a bit loonger then 5 min at times tho. once im in i can logg out and logg in at normal loading time. if i close the client and reestart it, i have to wait another 5 min again for the load.

And yes i do have my old crappy computer now, when i was using my new computer i never had this problem, its a shame its broken atm
