Java Error when launching the game

Postby ForSparta » Sun Oct 24, 2010 8:35 pm

I go to start the game, and I keep getting this error:

I've been playing HnH up until now without any problems. Now for some reason I can't play. I reinstalled Java, but that didn't fix the problem. Does anyone have any clue on how to fix this?

You'd have to post the text from the "Exception" tab, at least.

It seems your Java installation is erroneously trying to use a proxy server. Check your proxy settings?

That's the weird part...I'm not using a proxy and my FoxyProxy is turned off.

Note that Java keeps its own proxy settings. You can check them from the Java's Control Panel thingie.

Error messages suddenly popping up just as you are supposed to play a game totally sucks. Thanks for the information here, though. It really helped. Sometimes, game installation fails when the proxy settings are not set properly. So, you really have to check your proxy settings beforehand.
