Break into closed settlement

Postby Fragnatic » Thu Oct 28, 2010 4:48 pm

Hi!

I login today as everyday... At the beginning everything was ok, but when I went to the store i saw strange things! On the ground lay skeleton of my friend! Also we lost almost all metal, leather and silk. I thought, that someone break palisade... But I walked around it and saw, that there is not any hole in palisade... Gates also was closed and key was in the place where we leave it... Of course inside the settlement.
So... How someone break into our settlement and kill my friend when he was off-line? Someone used bugs? Or there is any way to do that things?

There are several possibilities. Someone used the wall jumping glitch to get in, someone broke the palisade and fixed it again or maybe someone who was already part of the town did the damage. No bug here I guess, just look around for scents to find out how it was done. Your friends probably got summoned btw, for leaving scents somewhere else.

It was not village... Just settlement suronded by palisade. We don't have Village Claim.
Also... My friend's corpses was not near hearth fire... But ok, they lifted it and put in the house... But he don't leave settlement for long period of time.. So how someone find his proofs and summon him? Is there possibility that someone hack his account, then open gate, let thefts come into the settlement, then close gate again, put key back and allowed to kill himself... Then thiefs can escape by teleport... Uff... I know that it's screwed version of events, but... I'm looking for something that will explain this strange situation.

It was dryad.

Ok this is what I think happened. Since your friend wasn't foudn dead on his HF, this means he wasn't summon killed. You cannot carry a body only a skeleton and it takes a while for it to turn into one. And even if you could lift a body, it would have died on his HF and no one but the owner could stand on the HF to carry it, unless they broke the HF , which I doubt is the case here.

Most likely your friend went out of the settlement or saw someone outside asking for trade (this is a common scam used by raiders) he opens the door gets attacked runs into house where he died, then the raiders took his stuff/keys etcetc and did their stuff and closed the door.

This may not be what happened but this is the most likely cause.
