Leather Retro-tanning

Postby Repercussionist » Wed Nov 03, 2010 1:01 am

So I was tanning a hide, and of course I used the boat trick, and when I logged out, I checked it and it was 96% done. I log in just a few minutes ago (just under 4 hours later) and my leather is back to 92% completion. It is outside, and has been since the beginning. I'm not sure if there was a server crash, or if that would even have anything to do with it.

it was unloaded from memory because you left the area, so it reset

Ah, I didn't realize everywhere did that. I could have sworn I've left tanning hides before, either while logged off or while exploring...
Alas, sorry for the unnecessary post.

Did you leave it in a boat/cart/house/cave?
Did you log off and leave it to tan?
If you leave it in a boat/cart it won't progress. If you leave it in a house, cave or even outside and allow the map to unload its data by leaving the area for extended periods of time or by logging off, there is a chance that your leather won't tan.
