Change to Grass laying on Mudflats?

Postby Goom » Mon Nov 08, 2010 5:51 pm

Hi, before the recent changes to paving I used to be able to plant grass on mudflats without ploughing, now it seems I am unable to and of course you still cannot plough mudflats.

I just wanted to check if this was "working as intended" or not. Thank you.

You really can't plow mudflat in the first place. It may be possible that the "mudflat" you saw before was actually dirt caused by livestock eating the grass when there is no feeding troughs (and the one you can now produce by stomping to dirt).
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

In case you can't grass it now you could simply pave it with stone and then plant grass - it also should be plowable after that.

I found that the "Stomp to dirt" tiles, while looking very close to the mudflat, in fact can't be plowed, or grassed. I had to stone pave, then grass them after my tests...

Yes, tested that too a moment ago.

Also you're still not able to revert original mudflat which has been paved of grassed back into digable mudflat.
Which is sad, since this would have ended grass-griefing of acre clay spots.

I am sorry, I feel I may not have been too clear.

You used to be able to directly lay grass on mudflats, I was in the process of terraforming one near my area.

Since the update you now have to lay stone and then lay the grass on the stone.

That is the truth. And I'd be interested to know if that's intentional or not.

Any news on this? I'd really like to know if I really have to start paving my whole mudflat now before I can grass it or if it will be changed again.

Seems unintentional, as planting grass directly on a mudflat makes a whole lot more sense than planting grass on a stone tile which you just paved on top of a mudflat.

It would be nice if they kept mudflats and "stomped dirt" essentially the same, seeing as how they basically are. Having different specifications of each when they look exactly the same could get kind of annoying. The only problem here would be to not allow "stomped dirt" to produce clay when dug. Otherwise all other terraforming properties should be the same.

Hopefully they'll fix this soon.
