Running autohaven file doesn't do anything?

Postby Twig » Sun Nov 21, 2010 7:47 pm

I've tried reinstalling Java, and nothing. Every time I run the file, I get the Java 6 splash screen, it goes away, nothing happens.
I can't be the only one with this problem, can I?

Make sure you are running the file with the Java Web Start Launcher, instead of the Java platform SE Binary (?).

This solved the problem for me.

I'm having a similier problem but it's when i use the web launcher.

here is what happens step for step

1: i launch the game from the homepage because i can't run the downloaded version
2: the launches kinda with the H & H splashscreen
3: but then the vista loading mouse appears over the splash screen (which normally is a sign that a program ain't responding)
4: now the window with H & H opens and its completely white and after a while it says Java (TM) SE binariy isn't responding and i have to close the program (this is weird because i launched with Java(TM) web launcher)

PLZ help me with this problem

This solved the problem for me.

Getting Java Web Start Software

Java Web Start is included in the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) as a part of the JRE 6.0. This means that when you install the JRE, you get Java Web Start installed automatically. The Java Web Start software is launched automatically, when a Java application using Java Web Start technology is downloaded for the first time. The Java Web Start software caches (stores) the entire application locally on your computer. Thus, any subsequent launches are almost instantaneous as all the required resources are already available locally. Every time you start the application, the Java WebStart software component checks the application's website to see if a new version is available, and if so, automatically downloads and launches it.

Launching an Application Using Java Web Start Software

From a browser: Click on a link from a web page.

I'm using the Java Web Launcher and nothing happens after the splash screen.

Same problem here.
Also, putting Javawebstart in compatibility mode did not fix the issue.
