Can't disable music?

I'm not sure if this is a bug or I'm just doing something wrong, but I can't seem to permanently disable the bgm. I want the music to be disabled because I usually listen to my own music while playing H&H, quite loud, which clashes with the bgm of the game every time i enter a building. The problem is that I can't figure out how to disable it. In the options menu the 'music enabled' checkbox cannot be changed, and I have no idea where game settings are stored for a java executable. Can anyone help me out?

There seems to be some coordinate bug with that checkbox; try clicking a little bit above it, and it should toggle.
