Numbers are too small to read

The numbers in game are hard to read, 0 looks like a line, same with 8, other numbers are difficult to read as well. % doesn't look like %. The text(letters) ingame look fine.

I am wearing glasses, and that's not the problem.

What's your screen resolution?
And do you use full screen?

I don't think the problem is a tiny screen.
And yes, my computer is rather old, but, I can see numbers that are smaller just fine(in other programs).
For example, this text is smaller than the actual game text, and I can read it fine. Here's the list of numbers: 1234567890

I use Windows XP.
I am updating java now(or trying to). I will edit if it helps or not.

Also, the numbers when building something(where it tells you how much you need to bring, how much you need to build, and how much is built.) are fine, if that helps.
