Glitch when making hardened leather?

I had all the suppiles for making four pieces of hardened leather in my inventory and proceeded with the steps in making it. Instead of getting four pieces, I got one.

I hit craft all and watched the crafting. The first piece was made. Quality 6. When the second piece was made, no new piece went in my inventory, but the quality 6 piece of hardened leather became quality 7. The third time I attempted to make another piece that SAME piece of (now quality 7) changed back to quality 6.

I stopped the crafting at this point and put my supplies away. I asked a couple of people about it and all they could pretty much do was shrug.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Well, I feel dumb. To be fair though, I have done the same thing before and did not have a problem. :I

You got really lucky then because usually items are used "last in, first out". So when your first hardened leather was created it should have been top on the list for being used.
