After some problems with java i finally got the client to properly start on Ubuntu. At first, everything works fine but as soon as I start to play I get graphical errors and the game becomes so slow that changing the position of the mouse takes nearly a second.

Gnome 2.30.2

3GB RAM
2.20 GHZ Intel Dualcore CPU
some ATI Graphic card which I cant remember right now

Yes, reinstalled the newest version of them and of java without effect.

Gnome 2.32.0

3.9GiB RAM
CPU Intel Core2Duo E6850 @ 3.00 GHz
VGA nVIDIA GeForce8600GT

default JAVA is "Java-6-openjdk". The result did not change though I tried the change to "java-6-sun".
