Character died after server crash

I was mining in a cave, and the game froze and the server crashed. Then when I logged back on after the server was back, my character was missing, and I was only able to make a new character. I'm quite annoyed that this occurred when during the crash, and I was unable to do anything about it. I trained up 45 exploration and 30 marksmanship, which took a while. And since I'm full change, I lost almost everything, including a bear cape and a lot of leather items. While I don't really care about the items so much, I'm really annoyed that I lost 2 days of work on my stats and skills. But what REALLY REALLY bothers me is that I can't use my old character's name anymore. Is there any way I can get my old character back?

have you checked your possible crimescene? dead people normally dont walk away and they drop their equip if the body decays (turns into a skeleton)

as it were in a mine: where you digging at that moment? nowadays it happens that stones fall from the ceiling hurting pretty well (though you should have stopped mining after ko-ed by the first stones.... hm...there is a slight chance two or more rocks fall the same time the same place... )

I have been trying to find the cave I died in, but it is really far from my home, and I don't remember where it was exactly. But do you know how much damage a single rock drop does? Because I had ~130 SHP/HHP at the time, and I don't think 1 drop is supposed to kill me anyway.

You probably got hit by rocks while mining. I will move this to the bug section though just in case something off happened to you character. Please try to use the proper forums next time you make a thread.
