I've recently had my character drown, and it along with some other circumstances have prevented me from being able to play, so I'm on a hiatus for the moment. But, I feel I've been around in and out since the start of world 3, and learnt and experienced a few things, I thought I would leave my input on some mechanics that interested me in the game.
To begin, I suppose.. the drowning of my character. Basically I jumped out of my boat, for reasons that shall go unmentioned... and upon realizing I was in the water tried climbing back into my boat. But I couldn't? I'm not sure what caused it, as I wasn't lagging. There was a person in the passenger part of the boat if it means anything. Also, I was told later by a player, that I have to click the center of the boat while it was on the water, for the option to set sail to come up. Just wondering if I can get this confirmed, and if so, if it was intended. In testing, I have found when you are boarding a boat from land, you can right click anywhere on the boat.
Secondly, I mostly took interest in the combat system my time playing HnH. And I've came to the conclusion, is that in PvP, UA has a huge advantage. With the world reset, this was proven to me ever more so.
The problem being maneuvers. Where I fought someone with 70~ Ua against my 50MC, I stood no chance, and I wouldn't of either if the person had the same 50UA, or my MC was 70... Example... In my case, I charge'd opponent while he using the stance Death or Glory, which resulted in me having 1IP, and him having 6. Needles to say, I was punched/flex'd to death before I could stack enough IP to even try and counter DoG with something like Sting/N.P.N.G/Sting. I was crushed
I thought through some cons and pros of using UA vs MC and thought it might be plausible... and some things came to mind. wFirs,t and most obviously, the high damage dealt and deflection due to shield. Also, I figured, at the start of world 4, UA'ers would be pushing STR to increase damage where I only needed to acquire and increase sword quality, leaving me to push another useful combat stat, in my case, agility. I'm still doubtful it would help against someone with that much a difference in UA he could get 6IP in one maneuver My final solution was to push... both stats? MC and slight UA in an attempt to lower the delta value, and take the few advantages of MC to fight back. I never got to try this world, after drowning, but I was doubtful to say the least....
I'm just wondering what people, perhaps Jorb and Loftar are considering, my idea is to perhaps add maneuver's that use MC, or change some of the maneuvers to use MC as weight.. something along those lines. Anyways, that is for the most part, things that concerned me most.
EDIT: It would appear I placed this post in the wrong topic, was aiming for Critiques and Ideas, but I guess I mis-clicked, much like the time I drown. Can I ask for it to get moved? Or should I split the two posts, one into MC idea's, and one for boat clicking?
