Invisible Wall?

When I try to move west, I can't. It seems as though there's some kind of invisible wall blocking me. Am I at a SG border or something?

Has there always been stuff on the other side of the border? I always thought it was black at the edge.

Even if it were 1 click inside the border, the cave is still limited by the end of the world.
