Boat disappears after crash

My client crashed while in a boat. I login to find myself standing on top of water but able to move getting the message "You need swimming to cross deep water". My Hearth fire is on a tiny island with not near enough trees to produce a boat. So how do I get out of this situation without any help from "God"?

EDIT: A kind person picked me up and brought me back to a landmass. However, I still would like to find a better solution than hoping someone will pick you up.

If you have enough strength; Destroy hearth, spawn in wilderness.

I don't have the strength. Yet another problem.
