Signposts that stay up with no materials

Apparently it's possible, I just discovered this by accident. It seems if you're quick enough, you can place a building site and then walk away without adding any materials and the signpost will remain there, as solid as any other.

The trick is to move away at the precise moment the signpost is placed down. If you're too slow, you'll move away and it'll disappear as normal. If you're too fast, you won't hear the "thunk" and it won't appear.

Nice if you're short on inventory space and need to box in some animals, I suppose, but beyond that it's completely useless. :P

Pretty sure its been reported before but I could be wrong. Now that trapping animals with signs isn't as viable its not a huge issue.

I don't really get why everyone keeps saying that, to be honest. It's as easy/difficult as it has ever been; the only difference now is that when you're dealing with an entire herd, you really need to use the 'against a river' method. In fact, that actually makes it much easier to single out a single animal; you position yourself (in your boat) just so that one of the outside ones can move along the shore a bit, and the rest of them remain 'stuck' against the shallows. Then just box-in the loose one, lose the aggro of the others, and finally go back and kill the fenced straggler.

But that's kinda how I've always done it, so I guess it depends what method people previously relied on. I always found this easier than "chase down and fence in an entire herd as they wander around and constantly escape through the gaps".

Surround yourself and a boulder with signposts, aggro herd so they come to you, sling them all to death, butcher and repeat.
