Game crash when starting certain character

So, whenever I try to start the game on a certain character, the game freezes on the black "Loading..." screen. Nothing in the window, including the HUD(which sometimes doesn't even appear), works. I can start the game without any trouble on my other characters except for this one. I use Gilbertus's client.

If you want to know my specs, they're pretty shabby, but I use to be able to play without any trouble:
OS: Windows XP Home Premium SP2
Dual Core Pentium 4 2.8 gHz processor
512 MB DDR RAM
nVidia MX 440 4 GPU
160 GB HDD(however I used a 250 GB external HDD for Gilbertus's, and I've tried starting from the internal HDD with no luck.)

I've also tried starting from my hearth fire and where I logged off, neither of which worked. Sometimes when I start the game up, some of the HUD appears(not all of the hotkeys or buttons from the menu) and sometimes half of my character appears, but the game crashes.

I tried deleting the belt file and starting again, but it didn't work either.

happened to me too

i waited for a day and it worked



one thing i observed ...the site was down when i wasn't able to login on one specific char(the one i was playing when the site went down).....
and next day when the site was fixed..i could login on the character


but i dont think is the same for you because ,how could you report the bug it it wasnt for the site to work?

Yeah, I can connect on new characters fine but it still doesn't work. I've tried deleting the belts file, too, but that doesn't work either.

Just cleared the cache. Now when I log in, it shows the HUD but hearth fires don't have animation and the game is frozen, and sometimes when I start I see my character without a hat or cape on.

Okay, I tried it on another computer, and it had the same problem but it fixed itself quickly. I think it's not that the game is crashing, but is just taking its time to load.

Bumping again, that wasn't the problem :/
