My Firewall Wont Let Me Stay Connected

Postby Ixelleon » Wed Jan 26, 2011 1:02 am

Like the title says, I have to turn it off for a second to connect then turn it back on and I can play for a random about of time before I'm booted from a time out.

The problem is the way your damn game works. My sFirewall doesnt give me the option to allow packets from specific IPs and with no game software on my computer I can't tell it to allow it the game to send and recive info.

Whatever the stupid J whatever file format is the issue and the way you have 'autohaven' thing be how we connect to the game.

I just had to change firewalls and had played the game long enough before that I'm very pissed off at the loss of progress and time I put in thanks to this.

How the fuck can I fix this?

Yeah...no. I didnt mind turing it off for a few seconds to try and connect but I can't leave it off. I enjoy this game because I can run it in a window, I'm always doing other shit and I can't have my firewall down for that.

Just remember, that at this minute there is an army of 8 year old chinese children waiting for you to turn off your firewall so they can hack into your computer, steal your credit card number and mother's maiden name, then get every piece of personal information down to the color of underwear you have on right now, just because you play H&H.

Seriously, go out and get yourself a real firewall. Most all firewalls will allow IP-based permissions. If you're dealing with a hardware firewall that won't allow IP-based permissions, well, then, I guess you're fucked. Sorry you can't play a game you don't have to pay any money for, because your dumb ass won't find a real software firewall or buy a real hardware firewall that doesn't suck.

You won't be saying that in a week or two when you realize how many abandoned homes there are. A 30 second boat ride south of my village literally bring you to the ghetto. There's abandoned claims everywhere with the occasional newb taking things and raiders patrolling. It reminds me of Detroit.
