Game won't start

I'm new here and I read some of topics with similar titles but I can't find a solution.
I installed the lastest java, and when I click the big play button and get the option to open or save, I click open.
Afterwards, my mouse displays its loading icon, then stops, and nothing happens. Nothing. Just me staring at the big play button, I've tried this in IE, Firefox, and Google Chrome, same result everytime. I have Windows XP and nVidia graphics card. I'm positive I have the lastest java version, and I'm opening it with the default, Java Web Start Launcher.

i have a similar issue, except i can still connect by spamming the button until i get a functional window.

i keep getting a message about how java binary has stopped working

i am on windows 7 on an nvidia video card, using firefox, and on the computer's admin account.

i messed around a little in my settings but nothing i've done thus far has changed the problem.
