Black screen after log in.

So I'm attempting to H&H on my moms crappy old computer that has dial up. I've already done a few things on the flowchart but each time I fix it something else happens.

So now I'm able to log in, but right after log in it goes to a black screen and just stays there. No character select screen. Anybody know how I can fix this?

Use ender client

Actually yes I just updated them so I could play say minecraft.

I don't see how this would help if the client is crashing right after I click spawn at hearth.
No chatbox or anything.

i was having that problem a few days ago when the forums were messed up, guessing the game couldnt load the serverside art files and was crashing on login. same thing happened when i updated my custom client and forgot to include its custom art

are you using a custom client?

I had same problem (Gilbertus client), reinstalled java, all worked.
