Boat suddenly destroyed in water, character dead

I had originally though that this was simply a case of an animal destroying my boat... with me on it... but with some prodding from my villagemates, I'm reporting this.

So, I was hunting a boar in my boat by shooting at it with a bow and arrow, I was SOMEWHAT close to the boar, but not close enough that the boar's sprite wasn't touching my boat's, when suddenly, my boat was gone without going through the darker shade of red as is normal for an object being damaged, the two crates that were in it dumped into the shallow water nearby, with my character being dumped into the water. Despite by attempt to get to shore, including buying swimming, my character drowned and died.

I don't particularly want a revive, as I have since started a new character (getting some extra LP wouldn't be turned down though, but I won't hold my breath), but having my new character's name changed to the old character's name would be appreciated; but if this IS a bug, the developers should know about it.

Did your boat have any decay hits on it at all? Sometimes if your boat is badly decayed, it can be destroyed while you are on water due to further decay.

Boat destroyed by boar. Next time keep some distance between you and animals.
