Marskmanship and aim time?

Marskmanship and aim time?

Postby Brass » Wed Feb 09, 2011 4:35 pm

On static targets just a few tiles away, sometimes it takes forever to aim and sometimes it takes no time at all. It happens at 100 marksmanship with both a sling and a bow. Is it a bug? Is there something I don't know? Am I doing something wrong?

Maybe the animal has a tic that keeps throwing off your shot.

Possibly but it seems different to me. When that happens there the normal gain time of the bar with a distinct ticking to it. This is just a steady slowly progressing bar.

sling 72, bow 52, arrows ~60. Why would that matter? In shooting the same animal with the same weapon sometimes I will have 2 VERY different aim times.

well equipment effects speed, but if you are using the same equipment and getting varying speed the only thing i can thing of is lag.

So hypothetically if one of my arrows was Q10 and one arrow was Q1000 i would see a drastic change in aim time between the 2 shots?

According to wiki both bow and arrow quality act as a cap on your marksmanship skill, so the answer would be yes... You probably have arrows of mixed quality.

Must have grabbed a quiver that someone else made. It's very possible. Thanks for the input. Please kill this thread.
