Delayed error in resource gfx/tiles/gold/gold (v1), from for

I've been trying to get H&H to work for weeks...months maybe. I've reformatted and re-installed multiple times. I still get this java error

I think this only started happening when Ubuntu moved to open jdk from sun jdk... does anyone have advice on installing java jdk a different way that might allow me to kick it with you kids?
